The kids had a field trip planned at school for like 3 weeks, but the rain kept putting it off until the skies became sunny last week. They went to Cedar Hills Farm for lots of frolicking in the grass, feeding the farm animals, and eating their picnic lunch. One of the highlights for Jon Walker was the bus ride :) So, of course they pulled on their boots for the big occasion and acted like real country kiddos.
Sidenote: Kennedy aka "Shoe Queen" made everyone well aware of the new boots she was wearing.
Last weekend, Jon Walker, Kennedy and myself loaded up and hauled ourselves to Northwest Arkansas to visit friends...new and old. My long time friend, Lindsay lives there with her family which happens to include a boy and a girl my kids' ages! We had a ball shopping and walking around the park. We hiked up to the waterfall, jumped over a snake, and tossed rocks in the stream. It was loads of relaxing fun.
I also had the pleasure of meeting with a blog friend for breakfast. Some of you may recognize Kelly from http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/. She brought her precious Harper and we had a great time talking babies, blogs, and life in general. She is in El Salvador now with Compassion doing mission work, so pray for Kelly and all the volunteers as they end their work there tomorrow. It was so fun to talk with someone so inspirational, yet so down to earth.
That about sums it up...oh, and the fact I am seeing an Upper Cervical doctor about 3 times a week right now for a head injury I gave myself. Note to any of you out there: if you throw your head over to wrap your wet hair in a towel and the bath tub is in the way, IT WON'T MOVE!
Pray for me, my sanity, and my family as we are busy as bees right now just living life!
