It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...

I know it seems a little early, but I am not blessed with a whole lot of extra time these days, so I have to take advantage when I get a free ten minutes. The kids were a little (ok, ALOT) antsy to get started on the decorating once I told them that a giant Mickey Mouse Santa Clause was coming to live in our yard until Christmas.
I pulled out the boxes of Christmas decor from upstairs and we got to work on Friday night! The kids were a big help (if help is defined as damaging many of the goods). Needless to say, our hot glue gun got lots of use that night!

This is what the night started as...just a box full of unorganized ornaments/decorations.
(Notice the Rebel gear...Hotty Toddy!!!)

I first tackled the easy table centerpiece...just to feel as if something was accomplished quickly!
The mantle was pretty easy to decorate this year since we added the bookcases earlier in the year, so we had plenty of room for the collections. The stockings were hung with care :)

And what Christmas would be complete without an extra pair of eyes watching over the kids' behavior...really, an Elf on the Shelf is a MUST with small kids! Welcome back Emery the Elf.

Speaking of collections, do any of you have special collections you set out each year? My grandmother, Gran, gives Jon Walker a nutcracker and Kennedy a Santa Clause every year. I love watching their collections grow and it makes the kids feel special to have their own areas to decorate.

We don't have the tree up yet, so now we wait on that and then just Jesus' birthday...we wait now just as Joseph and Mary did.
