The last few weeks have been very exciting for us as spring is slowly getting here. The days are longer and it's nice to come home to sunshine. Also, the kids' school hired a new staff and they are wonderful. Jon Walker is learning in leaps and bounds...it is truly amazing how smart he is (I am sure I am biased, but really he is smart). He can tell you all about lower case and capital letters, new songs he sings, and his art skills are through the roof...that makes me smile big. Kennedy is also catching on to the idea of "school" as she is already singing the alphabet. All of the teachers talk about how prissy she is and never misses any conversation. She prisses from her age group to the older group (baby doll ALWAYS in tow) and points that finger and tells them all what to do. She is definitely the social director of HQ. And for all of you who know how much she loves her food, she sings this little chant when she sees the lady who prepares the food- "Ms. Bobbie...eat! Ms. Bobbie...eat!" She is a handful but I love to see what their little brains are soaking up each and every day.
Also, to go along with Kennedy's newfound knowledge, I guess her hair is growing because I finally got it up in a pony tail this week for the first time. She has been wearing barretts but pulls them out as soon as she is out of my sight. I thought the pony would come right out too but she has managed to keep it up! She looks so adorable and like a big girl. Time for the big bows!
Last but certainly not least, we did a little renovation in our den and I love the results. We (and I did help a little but mostly mean Waylon) added built in shelves around each side of the fireplace. I love the extra space for my McCarty pottery and the pictures of the kids fit perfectly above each unit. I also think it adds that character and charm that is always needed in a newer built home. Waylon also tore out the old mantle and put in a new much deeper mantle so the tv would sit up there instead of on the wall. I think it all looks great. He is so much more talented than we all give him credit for...thank you babe!
Enjoy the photos of the updates around our busy house!!!
