The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

So the heat is really getting to me. Does it seem so much hotter already than normal? I felt so sick after work last Thursday but did move on and have a better weekend...somewhat anyway. It was Father's Day weekend and we had a trip to Greenville planned. We loaded up and ended up having a great time and found lots of ways to beat the heat. We swam with an old friend of mine, Lindsay, and her kids and that let our kids all get the know each other pretty well. I think they had a great time together.


Then we spent most of Saturday afternoon on the lake with my brother and sister-in-law. Jon Walker was a little iffy at first but quickly got comfortable with the water and the boat once we played at the "beach" for a bit...it was actually the sandbar. By the end of the day, Jon Walker was driving the
boat on his own! I really had fun just relaxing on the lake, feeling the breeze, and enjoying good conversation with Paul on his birthday.





The "bad" and the "ugly" of this post is what happened on Sunday night. Our ac unit decided to clog some pipe somewhere and cause a leak to cause quite a bit of damage on our master bedroom ceiling and wall. The carpet is all wet and sheet rock will most likely have to be replaced. I just painted my bedroom in the fall so I hate that part because it will have to be re-painted, but I know that is minor in the big picture. We have never really had major house stuff happen because the house is pretty new, so this is more than I want to take on right now...in the dead of the heat!



I do have my beach trip coming up in less than three weeks, so at least I have that to look forward to...more fun in the sun!
