Lots of Firsts for 2009

We had our first snow of the year this morning and it only lasted about 3 hours. It was pretty and this is the view out my office door after it had melted a little. I like the snow, just hope the ice doesn't come this year.

Kennedy has become very head strong about doing things herself. She wants to pick up things and turn on the bath water and even feed herself. I try to give her things to eat that she picks up with her fingers (for clean sake) but if she sees Jon Walker eating with a fork or spoon, she feels she needs one too. And she throws a fit until she gets it! So, here's the scenerio of this picture....She is having a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner. JW having a bowl of chili. Their highchairs are sitting side by side in the kitchen and I walk out of the room for a minute. JW climbs out of his chair to follow me. She snatches his bowl and goes to town. Needless to say, that outfit had to be thrown out (good thing it was a 9 month outfit since it was a Polo)....yummy!

We got invited to join some friends at the DCC last weekend to watch the Riverkings play hockey. It was both of the kids' first times to see a hockey game and it was pretty interesting. They had every mascot of every business you can imagine there on the ice during the break. Now, for starters JW is very afraid of characters so that was a bust (he thought he was going to have to go on the ice too since there were some kids out with them) and on top of the animals, he is sensitive to noise. And since noise is a requirement on the ice with all the hits and fights, Jon Walker was quite unsure. Then as soon as we got home, he wondered when we were going back!

Daddy took Jon Walker to the woods for his first time ever. JW even got brand new boots to go along with his toddler sized camo gear he got for Christmas. He was way too cute! They walked the woods but didn't see any deer. JW said they were all sleeping...who knows what he would have done if he had seen one! But he sure thinks he wants to shoot one...he practices ALL the time.
